New England Rugby Union - Armidale
For over 25 years, Armidale has annually hosted a very successful
rugby union camp. The prime aim of the camps has been to continue
the tradition of nurturing talent among young players from non-metropolitan
regions.
This year, Rugby Worldwide organised the smooth running of the
camp and was host to a record 240 young rugby players. Over 150
of these were 'live-in' guests. A special sports clinic was provided
for the parents. Lef by Sports Medicine Australia, it demonstrated
techniques used on the Rugby sidelines for keeping players healthy
and safe.
The camp also has attracted some big supporters from the rugby
world including Eddie Jones, Joe Roff, Ben Darwin, Jamie Holbeck,
Jeremy Paul, Bill Young, Joel Wilson, Nic Henderson, Tim Gavin,
Richard Tombs, Ben Coutts & Willie Gordon.
Rugby Worldwide lined up an impressive list of sponsors for the
event as well including Abigroup Construction, Abbott, Pardy and
Jenkins Solicitors, McDonald’s Family Restaurant, Asics, New
England Credit Union, Summit, Brumbies Rugby and many more.
These sponsors also benefited from the media exposure generated
